My Story

There are many reasons why I got into this line of work and why I am so passionate about the support and education I provide. My personal experiences with gender dysphoria, gender-based violence, substance use and existential dread brought me to explore how we can heal from trauma and come back into a positive relationship with the self and others.

In 2018, after years of personal experience as a client of psychotherapy myself, I decided to go back to school to earn a master's in counselling psychology. Throughout my degree, I worked at front line services such as: CMHA Crisis services, New Path live-in youth treatment centre, and Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis Shelter supporting those impacted by domestic violence and human trafficking. These experiences reinforced my love and respect for community level engagement, and built crucial crisis management skills.

Currently, I balance my self-care by participating in local queer community through performance art. In an attempt to practice what I preach this has been an opportunity to connect socially with the community, express myself, explore my identity and meaningfully engage in a productive hobby.
